The aim of IRD A/S is to transform ideas into commercial fuel cell products through Innovation, Research and Development. The business strategy of IRD is to develop and produce new fuel cell products in co-operation with international research groups, strategic partners and customers, and to manufacture such products cost effectively using new technologies.
IRD A/S has at its research facilities established strong groups in electrochemistry and material science, polymer and ceramic process technology, electronic and mechanical engineering and software. IRD A/S maintains a strong patent and documentation department to establish and protect intellectual property and support customers and products.
IRD A/S was founded in 1995 through a buy out of Innovision R&D A/S from the Innovision Group. The buyout was headed by Dr. J.S. Lundsgaard who has been co-founder of Innovision A/S and a range of new high-tech companies. Dr. J.S. Lundsgaard now acts CEO of IRD.
